  WESTBROOK VILLAGE COMPUTER CLUB

An Overview of the Westbrook Village Computer Club
The Computer Club programs begin in October and end in May.  During this time we have our classes and club meetings.  Throughout the year the club's computer lab is open to members.
Computer Classes:  The club offers classes for beginner and advancfed computer users.  Our classroom is a state of the art computing facility for hands-on training.  Our hands-on class sizes are limited to 10 students.  Along with our excellent instructors we have teaching assistants who guide the students through the class to make their learning experience easy and rewarding.
Computer Talk and Workshops:   Computer Talk is a monthly evening program where we provide lectures on new topics, answer questions and share experiences in a social setting.  workshops are ran when we invite outside lecturers to speak on the latest topics in the computer world.  Guests are welcome to attend both the Computer Talk and Workshops to acquaint themselves with our club.
Computer Lab:   Equipment in our Computer Lab allows members to transfer 35mm slides to CDs, convert LP, 45 and 78 rpm records into mp3 files or music CDs, and preserve VHS tapes by transferring them to DVDs.  There are also workstations to copy CDs and DVDs, and to edit videos.  The lab has a full set of self-paced training programs.  These include Windows Vista and Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007, and training on digital cameras.  All the workstations have easy to follow instructions.  And on selected days during the winter months, we have monitors in the computer lab to assist members in using the equipment.  Members can request to be put on the access list to use the computer lab at any other time when it is not being otherwise used.
